What working 3 jobs at once taught mePain. Pain and suffering. And character. And humility. And what shoes to wear when standing for 10+ hours per day.
My time at Drury has shaped me into the young adult I am today. Not only am I driven and independent, I have found my voice and I know when to speak up for what I believe in. Before coming to Drury I found it hard to disagree with popular opinion, lest I be cast out of some group and forced to fend for myself. Here in Springfield I have been thrown into so many situations I never thought I would have been when I was in high school. From working 3 jobs at once to quitting an organization I was primed to lead, I have found out who I am and who I am meant to be. Who I am meant to be is someone who is strong and well versed in many topics. I have been accepted into one of my top choices for law school with a near-full ride. I know that I could not have done this without the professors who pushed me, the friends who supported me, and most of all: myself for believing I could do it. |
